The Gospel of Matthew - The Harvest Is Great, the Laborers Few | Matthew Chapter 9: 35 - 38

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus travelled through all the towns and villages, teaching in synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness. As he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he told his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Therefore, ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest field.” This passage highlights Jesus' deep concern for people's spiritual and physical needs and his call for more labourers to join in spreading the kingdom's message.
