The Gospel of Matthew - Jesus Heals the Gadarene Demoniacs | Matthew Chapter 8 : 28 - 9: 1

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus and his disciples arrive on the other side of the Sea of Galilee, in the region of the Gadarenes. They are met by two demon-possessed men who come out of the tombs, fierce and violent. These men were so possessed that no one could pass by that way. The demons recognize Jesus as the Son of God and beg him not to torment them before the appointed time. Jesus casts the demons out of the men and into a nearby herd of pigs, causing the pigs to run into the sea and drown. The herdsmen flee and report what happened to the town. The whole town comes out to meet Jesus, and they plead with him to leave their region. Jesus complies and boards a boat, departing from that place. This passage underscores Jesus' authority over demons and his power to bring deliverance, even in the face of rejection from those who witness his miracles.
