The Gospel of Matthew - The Baptism of Jesus | Matthew Chapter 3 : 13 - 17

In the Gospel of Matthew - Jesus comes to John the Baptist to be baptized in the Jordan River. John initially hesitates, feeling unworthy to baptize Jesus, but Jesus insists, stating that it is necessary to fulfill all righteousness. As Jesus is baptized, the heavens open, and the Spirit of God descends like a dove, resting upon him. A voice from heaven declares, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." This event marks the beginning of Jesus' public ministry and demonstrates his obedience to God's will, as well as affirming his identity as the Son of God.
